Pet travel bowls and feeders

Updated

Travel bowls are simple to make and easy to compare on price, which makes material evidence the real differentiator. Because they hold food and water, ask for food-contact test reports for your destination market and specify the material and capacity precisely.

Models for this category are sourced on request. Describe what you need, or send a reference link, and we will check whether the manufacturer already has a stock mold you can use with your logo.

What buyers source

Popular formats are collapsible silicone bowls, stainless steel bowls (often with a non-slip base), plastic bowls with lids, bottle-and-bowl sets for walks, and slow-feeder or travel feeding mats. Many are sold in two or three sizes and several colors.

Stock models and customization

Because the tooling is small, many factories offer stock bowl designs in standard sizes. You then choose color, add a logo and select packaging. A fully custom shape needs a mold, which raises the minimum order and development time. See the stock model versus custom mold guide.

Materials and hygiene

Silicone should not smell strongly, feel greasy or leave residue when heated or washed. Stainless steel varies by grade, and cheaper grades can corrode in a dishwasher or with salty food. Plastics must be suitable for repeated washing. Ask the supplier to name the material grade and provide a data sheet.

Evidence worth asking for

Request food-contact test reports for your destination market. Rules and test methods differ between the EU, the UK and the US, so a report for one market does not automatically cover another. The landed cost tool lists starting points for each market. Match the report to the exact material and color you will receive, and to the production batch.

Quality checkpoints

  • Check capacity by measuring, not by the printed figure.
  • Fold and unfold a collapsible bowl many times and inspect the creases.
  • Wash it repeatedly and check print durability and odor.
  • Check that colors and print match between sample and production.

What drives cost

Material grade, weight, number of colors, print method, packaging and the number of size variants. Ask each quote to state weight and wall thickness so you are comparing the same product.

Frequently asked questions

Is food-grade silicone enough as a claim?

It is a description, not proof. Ask for a test report on the actual material and color for your destination market, and keep it with the production batch record.

Why do prices differ so much between quotes?

Material grade, wall thickness, weight, color additives and packaging. A thin, lighter bowl is cheaper and may deform sooner. Compare weight and thickness, not just unit price.

Can I print my logo on a silicone bowl?

Yes, usually by silk-screen print, embossing or a woven tag on a carabiner. Ask which method survives washing and what the setup fee is.
